This course covers the integration of MicroStation Descartes into the design process. Starting with the theory behind using raster images in the MicroStation environment, this course quickly moves on to using MicroStation Descartes’ rich set of image editing tools to manipulate example raster images in a variety of ways. This includes development of vector data from raster images, creating mosaics and working in a hybrid image environment. In addition, production issues are covered including how to control file size, resolution and quality of plotting outputs based on project requirements.

Prerequisite: General working knowledge of MicroStation. Completion of the Descartes tutorial as delivered with the product is highly recommended.
