This entry-level course follows a typical roadway design workflow
and enables the student to design a roadway project upon course
completion. Learn all tools available to complete a roadway design
project from field data to completed proposed cross sections. Emphasis
is placed on user customizability of the software and seamless
transfer of project data between design disciplines. Project management
tools are used to guide the user through the design workflow with
the GEOPAK design software. This course utilizes the GEOPAK Civil
Engineering Suite.

- Transportation project management
- Digital terrain modeling: creation, display & analysis
- Interactive horizontal & vertical alignment design
- Coordinate Geometry Navigator
- Existing & proposed cross section design with Criteria
- Earthwork computations
- Plans preparation: labeling, plan & profile sheet creation
- Construction takeoffs
Prerequisites: A minimum of two months of MicroStation
experience is recommended.
