How do you place callout bubbles with out leader lines? All I've found is the place note option but it always has a terminator, incase you weren't going to cover it. Reply: This comes from MicroStation V8 XM Edition (version 08.09.03.66) help documentation. [Snip]
[Snip] Whenever I tried to render the 3D models in MicroStation, some of the elements disappear. But when I see the same model in wireframe it looks perfect. Could you let me know what would be the reason? Thanks for the information. However, I strongly believe the camera settings are not responsible for this behavior. If the clipping has to anything it has to do with wireframe mode too! This rendering behavior really hampers the visualization. Reply: There could be a few things going on here. When you mention some of the elements disappear, is it like the example below where I have a green ball in the center, surrounded by white boxes. Here is my first thought. If some elements seem to disappear when you render a view, there may be a material assignment to those elements, where the material is very dark. Here is an example:
Try rendering some example files which come with MicroStation and see if the problem is seen there as well. If you are running MicroStation V8 XM Edition, and used the default installation folder paths, you will find example files in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Bentley\WorkSpace\Projects\Examples\General\Dgn folder. The Solids.dgn has some models which you could try rendering. Let me know if this problem seems be file-specific, or if you can reproduce the problem in any file and we can go from there regarding resolving this issue. Can I learn the tool bar customizations from the help menu? Reply: Well, there is some documentation in the Help Contents. Look under Setting Up Projects > Workspaces > Workspace Fundamentals. You will see topics related to different workspace components. Also look at Setting Up Projects > Workspaces > Customizing the User Interface.
